I was reading outside last week while little 5 year old Jonathan Fairfield was out playing soccer on our basketball court. Every now and then he would come over and ask me if I wanted to "take a break from reading and go watch how good he was at soccer". One of the times he came over he looked very serious. He sat down on a rock and very slowly and thoughtfully he said, "I think that God is my favorite... because He made the sun. What else did God make?" I couldn't help but be filled with this overwhelming sense of Joy as we had an awesome conversation about what God had made and that He had made it all because He loves us.
It was such an awesome reminder to me about how awesome God is, and how richly He has blessed us. It also really reminded me to go back to that child-like faith and attitude of awe.
Our God is so excellent and awe-inspiring!
